I saw a trailer for a new BBC comedy last night, nothing new there, they're always plugging new programmes, but this one seems different, in that it might actually be worth watching!
There have been a number of new comedy series launched over the last few years and for the most part, they've been rubbish. The last new comedy to make an impression on me was My Family which was refreshingly and hilariously funny. Last night we were watching a repeat of Only Fools & Horses which I think must have been on the telly at least twice a week since 1981 when it first appeared. I don't mind the constant repeats though, it's still better than the constant tripe currently being made.
Anyway, back to last nights trailer, it was for "Carrie & Barrie" staring Neil Morrisey and looks pretty dam good. The style looks a little like Man Behaving Badly which isn't a surprise as it's written by the same fella, Simon Nye. I've been trying to find more details about it today but information seems to be a little bit thin on the ground at the moment.
Needless to say, I'll be tuning in on Friday nights when it appears on our screens in the Autumn.
